The art of bike building

Not all art is in the form of painting, dancing or creating something pleasing to the eye. This morning I spent a few hours watching a road bike getting built. Boxes from around the world were piled high. Quickly, the big parts went on. The tedious parts came next, a dental pick used to open just the right size hole. Soon the empty boxes outnumbered the full. The seat, the interface between bike and rider, and it was done.

Kinetic - Ice Climbing on Mt. Washington

Paul Degliangeli and Daren Levitt spent Saturday climbing the hugely popular "Pinnacle Gully" in Huntington Ravine. Out of all the gullies in Huntington, this one is the best. Gorgeous blue ice for most of the 500 feet of climbing. It's also one of the oldest ice routes in North America, done in 1930.

Kinetic - Winter Sport climbing

Anne Skidmore extending the rock climbing season. There's nothing like a sunny March day at Rumney, NH. For a weekday the parking lot was full. Probably with people sick of ice climbing.
