Sarah Holl creates outstanding pottery installations, huge works of the most interesting tiles, hand cut and painted. I spent some time with Sarah in her studio where she gets away from kiln and teaches drawing classes on the Cape.

Vacation - Whales

So whales got so close they bumped into the boat. Humpback whales, Finbacks and Minkes the ocean stunk of whale breath there were so many whales about. Amazing to see a creature so large and yet so gentle...unless your krill or some small fish.

Kinetic - Trail Running

After a weekend of decadence in NYC I decided to repent and go for a trail run for one of the US Trail Running Team members, Kevin Tilton. I figured I would take him to my home turf, out behind my house, for some sort of advantage. That pipe-dream was quickly crushed after the first 1/2 mile. As you can see here, not even the camera can keep up with Kevin....aka Mt. Goat

Abstract Painting - Rebecca Klementovich

Much of what I know about the history of art has come from this painter. My sister has been painting or drawing since I can remember, some of it I used to make fun of when we were kids. I like the bright colors of her new work, and the huge canvases she chooses to work on. I like it but I still make fun of it for old times. Here she is creating in her new studio in Queens.

Rick Dellaratta - Jazz Pianist

Up among the roof chickens and balconies overlooking Mid-town I spent some time being entertained by Rick Dellaratta. Something that I notice as worked my way around the lengthly piano, is that even the music was wonderful, while I was shooting the music faded to the background to almost nothing. Just a strange oberservation....
